Welcome to Project 4040

40 years / 40 races

Remi McManus is an entrepreneur, athlete, artist, designer and dreamer who is on a mission to compete and inspire. A former US National Road Race Champion, Remi spent a decade in the professional peloton as an athlete before moving to team ownership and management with the now extinct UCI registered Team Exergy. During his time at Team Exergy, Remi was able to bring a start up domestic team to the podium in races like the USA pro cycling challenge, the Tour of California, and too the forefront of media with innovation and imaginative marketing strategies.

40 races in Remi’s 40th year of life! He will be competing in cycling and running events, as well as triathlon, and other possible adventure events.

Idaho, Utah, California, Oregon, Washington, Nevada, and Arizona, to name a few locations. These are in addition to goals of competing Hawaii, Switzerland, and beyond

The official start date is May 15, 2015 with a completion date of May 15, 2016. The project will include competition in lead up / training events before the official start date in order to accomplish the goals set forth. The project will also continue through the 2016 calendar year in hopes of competing in beloved events and the Iron Man 70.3 and full distance world Championships. Remi will look to parley this project, and relationships made during this project, into building another UCI registered professional cycling team in 2017 and beyond.

To inspire, to motivate, to encourage,  to challenge, to document, to suffer, to laugh, to cry, to win, to LIVE! Remi hopes to do all of the above during this project, hoping to bring family, friends, and fans along for the ride. Through the years Remi has built friendships all over the world. During this project these friends are encouraged, and in some cases, forced to join in the project as competitors, sponsors or just supporters from a far.
